I'm on Vista, but I'm unaware if it's a specific OS problem, so I post it here.

It was playing fine a few days ago, but today, when I sit down to watch a movie, it "loads" the duration, shows the subtitle's "title" and then nothing else. The first file was mkv, then I used an avi file, but nothing happened. Plus, the VLC icon stays in my side taskbar with the info from the firs file (i.e. when I mouse over, it says sympathy for mr.vengeance, which was the first movie I tried). Help?

Delete %appdata%/vlc folder

I can't find it. I unhid the hidden folders, opened the appdata folder in my user account and looked inside the Local and locallowfolder.

Delete %appdata%/vlc folder

Found it, deleted it (it was in the Roaming folder). Uninstalled, reinstalled. Problem stays.
