Annoyance in latest VLC

Postby chriva » 15 Sep 2010 04:05

Im having trouble regarding the hotkeys.
When i press the volume up key on the keyboard it increase both the system volume(as intended) AND VLCs volume above 100 % wich leads to distortion.
I really love your mediaplayer, guys, but its getting rather annoying to keep reverting VLCs volume down to 100% everytime i have to increase the system volume.

Im not sure if you intend to fix this or not. But if you do, please just add a cap or something to make it impossible to increase VLCs volume above 100% when using dedicated volume keys.
No disrespect for your hard work, guys. VLC -the best there is =)

It will get fixed when someone sends us a patch. And no we won't cap the volume; lots of people want to be able to increase it above the nominal value.

I use that function quite often too. But it sometimes make you go hiwire, when you listen to music and want to increase the systems own volume by using the dedicated media keys, not VLCs compression.
What makes things even worse is that you cant turn off those keys by removing all shortcuts for hotkeys in vlcs options. -It seems to be hardwired :/
