I'd like to try installing an old version so I can listen to audio CDs with VLC again but I can't find any downloads that are an installer for a wizard launch.

They are all at ftp://ftp.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/ then the version then the platform.

Note that not all versions were released on all platforms.

I think what he's saying is that when you download an old version, ie the windows version of 1.1.19, and extract the ZIP file, there is no install script. There is a VLC application, and a bunch of libraries and support files, but no clear way to install it to your system.

Actually, the README file lists a file called "INSTALL - Installation instructions" and "INSTALL.win32 - Installation instructinos for the Win32 version of VLC" but these files are not present !

The EXE installers are also stored in that designated location.
