record button not showing up.

Hi guys!
I've got vlc on two computers. on the desktop it's fine and i have the record-button showing, however, on my laptop, it wont show along with the Snapshot button and such.

I've updated the vlc and i have the "advanced controls" checked, but it still wont show. :\ ugh ive gotten so addicted to it, i need it haha. :\

What version of VLC are you using? Use the latest version if it isn't already.

Deleteing preferences and cache files might help.

However, if you go to "View >> Customize Interface..." you should be able to add/change the interface buttons, including the Record button.

:s there's not even a View tab on the vlc! only Media, Audio, Video, Playback, Playlist, Tools, Help.
I've had vlc look to update itself,and it did a few days ago, but still stuck on this. :\ could it be i'd have to just manually install the newest version?

Reset your preferences.

Done! I unchecked the Advanced Contorls and reset my preferances, but nothing. So i checked the Advanced controls again, but it still didn't show up. :0

Im having the same problem... Is it the fact that I'm using my laptop thats the problem or is it the program itself...? Works fine on desktop...
