Get information of input stream size (VLC 1.0.5)

Hello,

I tried to found information about input stream size thanks a VLC Interface (VLM, RC, HTTP, Logfile, read size of a jpg snapshot...).
Can you give me the best way and a reliable way ?

For information, I start a stream from an external executable (with VLM) and I need to get the video aspect ratio.

VLC 1.1.4 correct a 1.0.5 bug ratio so it's ok, i don't need to know...
