VLC under Linux and Windows

hello, my english is poor, i translate with google trans...
Linux (do not know what version of VLC) downloaded subtitles are no problem with the *. txt files
That means I do not have to give them the path when they have the same name as the movie
Under Windows each time I load the subtitles - which more typically VLC does not support text files (not on list) - I just select all files (*)
Something can be done?
