I know this has been asked before, but how can I take screen captures. Like you can with the BS player (ctrl+p). I have read previous answers to this question, but I still dont get it. Do I need a new version or build or something. Um, you may have to check back here incase I still don't get it. Sorry. Thanks to anyone who can help.

It's been around for a while, but if you have a Mac or Windows the nightly builds get you the latest functionality.

While playing a video, do a Ctrl S, else select Video -- Snapshot from the menu.

(If you're using the skins interface, it's something like rightclick inside the video, then select Video -- Snapshot)

Hi! I had that same problem and I lost my nerves many times trying to figure out way to take screenshot that would work.
I think that this isn´t the best way to do it ( I dont use VLC at all), but it´s worth of try :?

I used the VirtualDubMod to open the videofile (I dont know what kind of video file you´r trying to play, but lot of them work in this program), and runned it to the spot that i wanted to take the snapshot and then i just went to Video, and Snapshot source frame or output frame (I dont remember which it was) and saved it at bmb format and had a nice little snapshot of the video.
This is just my way to do it, but it worked for me

Um.

I dont know what a nighty build is. I probably should have said that before. I use windows. And the file I want captures from is a OGM file. Any other file would work in BSplayer and I could just do it with that.
Please help me out..... again. TY

nightly builds are nightly build versions of the current VLC development version (unstable unreleased code). they are available here: htttp://www.videolan.org/~videolan

and you could have found that by searching the forums
