Hi all,

I wanted to ask about media servers that are compatible with VLC.

There is a version of VLC that has been ported to the iPhone called vlc4iphone (or by its new name Open Streamer).

According to this wiki page it supports:
...and streaming audio and video over HTTP/MMS/RTSP
I have a media server installed on my Ubuntu machine called minidlna, which I use to view films on my Samsung TV, it works great. But I cannot get it to work with vlc4iphone.

So I was wondering if anyone knows of any good Linux-based media servers that can be used with vlc for streaming over: HTTP/MMS/RTSP ?

Thank you!

Is Open Streamer really based on VLC?
