Can VLC play behind a window?

Postby svtaudi » 03 Aug 2010 17:37

I have a program that can make open windows transparent and I'd like to use VLC player fullscreen underneath so that while i'm working, the video is still playing. So far only DivX player continues to display the video while a window is overtop of it, but DivX uses so much juice.

When i put a window over VLC, WMP, KMP, QT and several others, the video doesn't display, even though it keeps playing. I've discovered that by changing some video output settings, they would play underneath but were flickering alot.

Does anyone know what I could do? Or maybe know of a player that doesn't soak my cpu and can play underneath?

Alright i got it. Using KMplayer.
Video Processing>Renderer>
VMR9 Renderless(HQ Subtitles)>
Force RGB32 in VMR Renderless

Running fullscreen underneath Firefox with several active tabs, and a few other windows open. CPU=55% (p4 1.7ghz, 512 ram).

YES!
