Screenshot via Telnet Interface

Postby mcam77 » 28 Jul 2010 04:36

Hi @all,

first of all sry for my bad english!

I have several Problems with v1.1.0 of VLC and setting up the telnet interface and making screenshots of them.
Later I want to RemoteControl VLC with VB.NET

What i want to do:

Start VLC with or without interface.
Watching the LiveVideo from the dshow-card
Making some Screenshots.
Quit VLC. (Solved no Problem)

What i´ve done:

Setting up VLC so it accepts telnet connections

Sending the followings commands:

new sout broadcast enabled
setup sout input dshow://
setup sout option dshow-vdev="USB Camera"
setup sout option dshow-adev="none"
control sout play

When I do this I´ve got a second Window with the stream(i want to see but i would prefer in the first window) and the first Window only shows the VLC-Logo
Is it possible to avoid the second window and showing the stream in the first window, or can I start the VLC-Telnet-Server(sry for this^^) without a window?
I would prefer the first choice(if possible)

How can I make snapshots? I found somewhere something like "key key-snapshot" but dont understand what this means.
Is it possible to set the output-directory via telnet?

Hopefully looking forward

Regards
