How to rejoin Video playback and Player into 1 Window

I separated my video playback and player into two separate windows and for the life of me I can't figure out how to re-join them. I have tried every setting I can think of of, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Just in case I've not been clear I'll explain it another way.

When I open my player and then choose a video to play it opens the video in a second window. I'm sure it's the simplest thing to fix, but I just haven't figured it out.

I'm using version 0.9.9a in Ubuntu 9.04 Thanks!
