can't read a protected dvd with vlc

I have bought lost first seasons no problem with the first three seasons and can' t read season four.
whenthe dvd is tried on wmp I have an error message relating to numeric protection but for VLC no error message ...and a grey screen

There may be two problems:
1/ libdvdcss is not installed. This is mostly a problem for Linux/BSD users.
2/ The disk is not for the same DVD zone as your DVD drive is configured, and your DVD drive has hardware/firmware protection. There is no solution other than change the DVD drive.

Hi,
i got the same Problem with the 4th Season of Lost. I simply cannot play it with VLC. Seams to be a copy protection issue rather than a region problem
I can view the DVD with the newest version of Windows Media Player (though i hate this thing).
Also it's possible for me to view it with Arcade DVD Player. I haven't tried any other software
