Hello I searched on this using all sorts of permutations and still couldn't find an answer. I am sure because it's super obvious, But I just can't figure out how to copy and paste or print the very useful media info and codec info that can be bought up on the screen.
I know it must be something super simple as this would obviously be possible, so I am hoping that now that I made myself look like a dummy somebody can tell me how to do that. Thanks in advance.

Ok, no way to simply copy and paste. I guess it must be harder to do then I imagined, well at least I know I'm not over looking something staring me in the face. It seems like something a lot of folks would like to paste into their library's. Well I guess I can use gspot for xvid/.avi but it would have been nice to do the same with all formats that VLC can play. Thanks for the quick answer and I'll keep my fingers crossed that someday that might be added. It seems that VLC is rapidly taking over the player market, I guess it must be driving a few big companies nuts .

All kidding aside are there any plans to fix this oversight? Or are most users happy with using a picture of the Codec data?

One could do it, but well.

I found a great alternative called mediainfo.exe it's an open source project and works with pretty much all types of video files it provides tons of info and can be easily customized through the very friendly GUI, it's written in C++. It would be sweet to integrate this with VLC, seems like if someone in authority here approached then something good could be had for all.
