Problem with .mkv files

Hi Guys;

I have a problem when I want to open .mkv files with VLC.

I have too many .mkv files which are totally HD quality.

Most of the files have the exact HD resalution. ( 1920-1080 or 1920-1200) While trying to play these files , I get no error and I can watch these files without any error.

But some of the files do not have the exact resalution. For example, I have "District 9" HD mkv video file. Its resalution is 1920 -1070. When I try to open and play this file with VLC player, after I open the file and watch it for a while ( let's say 6 minutes ) VLC suddenly crashes and closes itself and my operating system gives me a bluescreen . Then my computer restarts itself even though I do nothing.

This is certain that only the files that have a differenet resalution give me this error. I can tell you that this terrible because there are too many movies wich I have not been able to watch for a long times.

My PCs configiration is realy powerfull : 64 bit Windows Vista , 8 gb ram , ATI 4850 GPU unit and P4 3.4 processor. I use Apple Cinema Display Monitor which has 1920 - 1200 resalution.
( 16/10 )

I also tried to open those files by using another .mkv player such as Webteh's "BsPlayer". The other players also gave me the same error.

I also installed the latest codec packages onto my computer.

I'll be waiting for your replies.

Best Regards;

Ozan
