upgr from 1.0.5 to 1.1.0, m3u files stopped working

Windows XP Pro SP3
I "run" album.m3u which is an ASCII file containing

06 - Something for Nothing.mp3

Errors windows pops up, containing

This happens on all of the many m3u files I have tried. These worked just fine in 1.0.5. If I "run" individual mp3 files mentioned in the m3u file(s) VLC (either version) plays them just fine.
I guess I have to switch back to 1.0.5?
