Saving video settings of Extended GUI (over a playback)

Hi every good woman and man using and developing this great tool!

I discovered a problem. Basically I have a few videos which are too dark. I know I can brighten them up using the extended GUI settings in VLC. However, it seems such settings are only for a playback. I'd like to save them, even if I quit VLC.

Is this possible? And if not, could it be implemented soon? Unfortunately, I'm no developer .

Thanks !

You need to change the preferences and save them.

How about you press the SAVE button at the bottom of the preferences dialog?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear enough. I'm talking about the "extended option" (adjustments and effects) window here, where you can adjust a dark image or use an audio equalizer : CTRL-E.
I wanna save those settings and I dont seee any "save" button in that window yet. Is that possible in any ways ??

Thanks a lot again

As I said, you need to edit the preferences and save them. I don't think you can currently do that from the toolbox dialog.

Ok, now, please take the time to open VLc (run the latest version that is available to end user) and compare the "Preference" window AND to the "extended option" window (also called "adjustments and effects"). See, there's no way you can set the adjustments and effects in the "Preference" window !

What I need is to save the changes made in the "adjustments and effects" window , not the "Preference" one! Do you understand? There's no way to modify video gamma or audio equalizer in the "Preference" window. Can't you see the difference between both?

Now, here's what I'm asking in the name of God and of us all users : is it possible for you guys to make it possible for us, VLc users, to save those Adjustments and Effect, Please?

Thank you very much! Cheers! :)

Here's a french translation so it makes more sens for you to understand (and because my mother tongue is french as well)

I don't know what counterfeited crappy VLC version you have but in VLC 1.*, you can adjust gamma settings from Tools / Preferences / All / Video / Filter / Image adjust.

Hi Guys, I want to jump in here, too. I have the same problem (but not really a problem, c'est un request). I wrote a long explanation of the problem on the other thread. I am using version 1.0.3 Goldeneye (because I prefer it's simplicity, and your new versions hiccup (ave le hoquet) between replays.) I tried to follow your directions into Preferences/Video/Filters/etc. and it doesn't work in this version. Do I have to use the new version with hiccups to make an adjusted recording? Please just let me know. I think we're about at the end of this thread. As I said before, otherwise I love you software. -Merci beaucoup

ebud, already posted but it hasn't shown up yet and I need to get moving. There are a couple of radio buttons at the bottom left of the Preferences menu (under Hot Keys) that will show the extended ("All") the menu options. Check it and you'll have more options than you know what to do with, including setting and saving permanent video and audio adjustments. Little bugger was hard to find. Hope that helps.

@j.b. : yeah, finally, I saved, I restarted, but only video adjustements were saved. The audio equalizer is stubborn and won't keep my previous setting.

Thx SoBugMeNot, I found that. I was away for a coupe days, that's why I coudn't answer fast.
