Better stability out of 1.0.3 than 1.1.0?

I have one specific .mkv file that is artifacting hard core when all the rest play perfectly fine on 1.1.0. It's in 720p and many of the 1080p .mkvs play just fine. I saw a post about the buffering in 1.0.3 being the last good one, so I downgraded and it's working flawlessly now. Is there any settings I can change in 1.1.0 to make it as stable?
