Why don't you try it out before asking about what it does?
Don't think there are custom equalizer presets, however in the preferences you can enter your own space-separate list of EQ levels which will serve as the default one.
If you always like the 10 band equalizer enabled go to:
Tools >> Preferences >> (select "All" for "Show settings") >> Audio >> Filters
And tick "Equalizer with 10 bands". Then go to "Audio >> Filters >> Equalizer" and enter in the "Bands gain" section your 10 desired band levels. For example "10 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 10" will set all bands to 0 dB except the first and last ones which will be 10 dB. Press "Save" and the next time you open a file the equalizer will be enabled with those levels.
As for low volume problems with AVI and MKV files... not really sure what you mean by that. AVI and MKV are just container formats.

Hello Arite...
Low volume audio problems on movies ..Eg: i'm getting dialogue volume low and other effects like explosions sounds high , so if i increase the sound to hear dialogue in the films the other effects like explosions sounds vey high.... I mean Movies DIalogue volume is low... But playing Mp3 's or watching DVD's dos not have these prblms, is there anyway to use Automtaic volume normalizer.....

Well there is a volume normalisation filter; however that might not help (as probably just normalises the full spectrum). To enable it though in the Preferences go to "Audio >> Filters" and tick "Volume normalizer" etc.
Otherwise making a custom EQ which boosts speech (300 Hz - 3.4 kHz) might help.
