I had posted for help for my vlc 1.0.5 and wen I got my reply back nothing came or showed up.

So I will ask again and I have one more thing to ad.
How do I get vlc to play DVDs and CDs automaticly???? Where is the stting I have win xp?

And it is my only player installed is there a setting I can go into in vlc to pick play DVDs and CDs?

It does play them but I have to open them in vlc first I would like it to auto play in vlc.

And next how can I play a .mpcpl playlist in vlc???

VLC 1.1.0 is out BTW so try it out if you haven't updated yet.

Assuming Windows XP correctly detects a DVD-Video as a DVD-Video you should be able to open My Computer, right click on your DVD drive, and then:

To open them in VLC go to "Media >> Open Disc...". From there you can select you drive, what type it is (DVD, Audio CD etc.)

As for *.mpcpl playlist - VLC doesn't support them. If you have an *.mpcpl file or you make playlists with Media Player Classic, when you do a "right click >> Save As..." click on the "Save as type:" drop-down box and select something that VLC supports such as *.m3u (called "WinAmp playlist (*.m3u)"). Here's a screenshot:
