Problems with ripping DVD

I am trying to rip a newly bought DVD (a Disney DVD).
My problem is that after playing the last chapter, vlc starts playing the main menu, and goes on with this forever. This means that the rip gets unnecessary large, with a not so funny menu at the end of the film.
I have tried to avoid ripping the last chapter (21) by using dvd://@1:1-1:20, but it still ends up with the menu, which I believe is chapter 21.
If I play any other chapter, eg 1:19, vlc stops as expected.
Is there any way to have vlc not displaying/jumping to the menu after the last "real" chapter (20)?
