Playback issues with particular .mkv's

Hey to whom may be reading this

When using VLC i usually have no issues, i'm on the newest version however i'm having an issue where after about 5 mins of playback the file ends and it just goes to the "cone" image. It does this also if i try to seek past these points.

This doesn't happen with all mkv's and i've been using the program for ages, just wondering if there is any way to stop this happening like a codec pack or something like that?

you could try playing .mkv's files with cccp using media player classic. http://www.cccp-project.net/

Yes i faced this problem in VLC. but the problem is because of the .mkv file.
some .mkv file not encoded properly. but you should try other player .
