OK, first off, I'm dumb. I tried to search the forums for an answer to this, but a search for "frame by frame" returned 70-some results, most of which have nothing to do with the exact query. If someone could explain how to search for exact matches, that'd be extremely appreciated. The instructions in advanced search don't include this info.
But the real problem I'm having is with frame by frame playback. I was scrolling through a vid to get screenshots and I saw a frame I thought would be really good for my purpose, so I switched to frame by frame, found it, and got my shot. The problem is that I can't go back to normal playback. Even if I quit and restart VLC, then open that same file, it displays the same frame. It's like the video is like frozen. Is there some cache I can clear and, if so, where is it? I can't find a "clear" or "purge" or "refresh" anywhere. And, obviously, I can't figure out how to turn off the frame by frame.
Please remember, I'm dumb. I'm using VLC's GUI for 1.0.5, not the command line, on Windows XP.
