how to reduce the number of entries in "recent" list?

how to reduce the number of entries in "recent" list?

In menu

media->recent media

all the last opened videos are listed.

How can I disable this list or at least reduce the number of entries?

Ok and where exactly? I did not found an option.

You're right! Disabling recent history is not in preferences!.
