How can I edit Media Library Stream Entries

Hi,
I've been adding a number of audio and Video Streams to the VLC Media Library. However, in quite a number of instances, the information that shows for that item is very uninformative. For example, the "location" (i.e. the URL) of the stream is repeated in the "Title" field. I tried to edit the content of the "Media Information" by right clicking the entry, editing the dialog window, and then "Save metadata". It doesn't work. In MacOS I get an error message, "Error While saving Meta/ VLC Cannot save meta data", In Windows it looks as if the edits are saved, but they are not.
Isn't it possible to edit stream entries? If not, how can I organize the Media Library?
