DirectX Wallpaper

Postby jjoxford2007 » 12 Feb 2010 01:36

I was just wondering if the DirectX Wallpaper feature only works for some video files or if theres something I maybe don't have. e.g, drivers or maybe codecs. Because every video file i play it wont let me click DirectX Wallpaper its just grayed out. any help or info on this matter would be appreciated.

Are you on Windows Vista or 7 ? Then it is normal.

well i was using vista. now im on xp which is letting me use the wallpaper feature but not my whole desktop. for some reason it seems to be rendering the video in text boxes of the programs/folders on my desktop. sorry for this extremely late reply my computer crashed so i had to search for a copy of xp since i like it better then vista.

EDIT: um ok now its working...lol i didnt even do anything different. is this maybe a bug or is it a problem on my laptops end? i havent exited out yet to see if it still works but i have a feeling its going to work sometimes then all of a sudden it wont.
