As mentioned in the title, when I play an .mkv file it lags when I turn the subtitles on. It works perfectly without them though.

Spec
Intel Core 2 Duo 2,4 ghz
4 GB ram
NVIDA Geforce 9700M GT
Win XP x64 SP2

I have a hard time believing that my computer should not be able to play HD-movies. Is there any way to solve this problem?

Deactivate loopfiltering or try another video output modules might help.

I have already tried the first of those two suggestions, without any success. But what do you mean with "video output modules"?
