VLC netsync for Synchronized Playback

Postby rickatnight11 » 25 Jan 2010 20:36

A few years ago I tried to use VLC's netsync to synchronize the playback of an audio file local to two different machines. I wasn't very successful, so I'd like to try my hand at this on my wired network. I can't seem to find these feature anymore, however. Was it taken out?

I'd like to have the files played back locally on each machine only have the timing synchronized so that there's no chance of "stream lag". Is this possible?

Stream from one server and listen with 2 clients it should be fine.

That doesn't synchronize playback, which is my intention. In addition, I don't want there to be hit-or-miss performance if the other network traffic picks up. What happened to the netsync option?
