Any commands to restart or exit VLC?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Any commands to restart or exit VLC?

Postby chemi » 19 Jan 2010 17:16

Is there any commando to restart or quit VLC?
I am trying to administer remotely VLC via web and there is a window to send commands to VLC.
I searched the wiki for a list of commands but no luck.

Is there any doc with a list of available commands?
And to be more precise, any commands to restart and to quit VLC?

Thanks in advance,

Chemi.

The special playlist item vlc://quit will cause VLC to quit. There are no builtin mechanisms to restart at the moment.

Ok, so instead of sending a command from Web VLM Interface, I should play vlc://quit from Web Main VLC Interface.
Interesting... tested and it works.

Thanks,

Chemi.
