How do I play a folder on the network?

If I choose a folder to play on a local drive ("c:\music\beatles\abbey road") all the songs/videos play correctly. If I choose a folder on a network server (\\XPMEDIA\music\beatles\abbey road"), nothing plays. If I view the playlist, all the files in the folder are shown with 0:00 time and won't play. It must be looking at the correct folder, or it wouldn't have the names of the files in the playlist. The same thing happens when I specify the name of a network folder on the command line. Yet, if I specify the name of a network file on the command line, it works properly. I have not been able to play a network folder since 1.0.0. I am using 1.0.3 on XP and Vista. Thank you!

Anybody? Why can't I play a folder on the network? It used to work before 1.0.0.

I have same issue. VLC can play network files, if I open playlist and add network files to it its alright. However, if I use context menu options "Play VLC media player" on folder on network it doesn't work, same option on local folder works like a charm. Any suggestions?

Tnx!

Little update/solution from me:

When I use map network drive and assign drive letter to network share it works ;)

So I guess it's issue with UNC path (\\server\share).
