VLC and dvd player issue

Postby Crashnburn » 27 Dec 2009 22:08

I found this thread with a problem very similar for mine, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55664&p=184086&hili ... eo#p184086
but I have the problem that when trying to copy the video_lan file to my PC, it encountered copyright protection.
now, I know the problem of the choppy image and sound lies with the dvd player, mine told me I only had a limited amount of tries to switch the region (5, apperently), and right now those tries have been used and the dvd player is stuck on the US, or something.
coupled with the fact that these legally-bought dvd's are with copy protection, does anyone know of a way to circumvent/disable the region sillyness on the dvd player?

On modern DVD drives, the protection is in hardware/firmware. No amount of software can fix that. The only solution is to get another drive.
