recording with the Capture Device from VHS-Recorder?

hello there, have seen, that there is an option under menue, that you could record something???
Is it possible to record from a vhs video recorder via video grabber??? (have some from digitus: its called DA 70820 - USB 2821 Device) my engine is a compaq nc6320 with win xp SP3 the VLC is version 1.0.1 and it shows allready the pics from the VHS-Recorder, but i dont find anything, where to storage some files.....?
