Editing media information

Hello.
I was trying to edit the metadata on an mp4 video I have (tools>media information) and though the software allowed me to save the data with the changes lasting for the current session, the video would revert to the previous metadata when reopened. Is there anything I am doing wrong or are changes just not supported for mp4 files at this time.
