I didn't found much information on the web, so i quickly wrote down a short How-To.
Maybe it will be helpful to someone.

I also did a atmolight clone based around a arduino, a bit of custom software and some easily purchaseable led driver.

How to setup VLC to use the atmolight system http://fun3md.blogspot.com/2009/12/how- ... o-use.html

1. get the latest videolan client for your platform

2. install, start it and open the preferences

3. activate the atmolight module

4. configure the actual atmolight module

The following settings could be helpful to get a good whitebalance and nice overall response.
But still needs some adjustment.
just scroll a bit down in the atmolight modules preferences to find these settings

5. now just start a video and love it ... :D

a quick example to how it looks

sorry, it was late yesterday and the sentence came out wrong ...

If i find the time i will start a wiki article and write down some information about the system and the module.
But someone will need to review this later, because my english is currently a bit rusty.

Hi.

The setup does not work for my installation. I have Version 1.1.5. I do not get any video output and no action on LEDs. With the Atmowin Software it works.

Do I still need to copy the "AtmoCtrlLib.dll" to the VLC folder?
What do I need to choose for the "device type" in configuration? "AtmoWin Software" or "Classic Atmolight"?
Do I need to define the path to the AtmoWin program?

When I activate the checkbox for the Atmolight filter, I'm getting no video and no action on LEDs.

What do I wrong? I tested it already with two different computer.

Thanks.
