Hi,
I have a problem with big files (up than 8Go ) ,when i read a big files (often .mkv with x264) the video is slow .
I have check on google and no one seems to have my pb, i don't think the cause is my pc ( Pentium E2200 + 2GB RAM + 8800GTS).
Maybe there are some video option to edit?

Your CPU is probably to slow for VLC to play back such a HD movie.

If you are on Windows try Media Player Classic which is better regarding perfomance in HD playback.
