arab srt files

Postby alida » 10 Dec 2009 12:48

Can someone explain how i can get vlc to read arab srt or sub files? I guess i need maybe extra codecs, but which ones?
When i play a video with an arab sub or srt file I only get letters and numbers on the screen instead of arab. For me that is no prob, cause i understand english, but my husband does not, he is an arab and it would be nice we could watch a movie together.

Thanks in advance for your help

Btw I use vlc 1.0.3

Make sure to use a font which supports arabic characters and to select the correct code page.
