Microsoft Live Meeting and "MSS2"

Not sure if it is well known but now Microsoft Live Meeting now records it's stuff as MSS2 encoded WMV files

Unfortunately VLC 1.03 does not support MSS2 and I wanted to make people aware that

Now that Microsoft is using this more is there any chance of moving the development of the MSS2 encoding up?

There is an open ticket that I hope can get
https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/1393

thanks

Alna

Upload a sample somewhere is the best you can do.

Sorry for the long delay.

Here is a recording done using Microsoft Live Meeting 2007.

It plays with Windows Media Player but not VLC. VLC reports the followign
"No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "MSS2". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

Here is a link to the file.

based on Live Meeting using this format it would be nice if the developers could reevaluate supporting the format.

thanks for such a good product.

Interestingly, this ticket is considered "resolved", however, the problem still persists. Does that mean that the developers refuse to implement MSS2 support into the VLC player?

Kind regards
