Blank metadata when converting to ASF/WMV

With Media -> Convert/Save, when the conversion process is finished, the resulting file contains no ASF metadata. While the conversion is in progress, the ASF metadata fields in the destination file have good, valid values. But when the conversion completes, all metadata fields become blank - length, frame width, frame height, data rate, etc.
To repro, go to Media -> Convert/Save, pick a small WMV file, Convert, select the Video ASF profile, pick a destination file name, Start. When the conversion is finished, the destination file has blank metadata.
This repros regardless of the source - DVD, network, or local file. Repros with both 1.0.3 and the latest nightly build 1.0.4-rc-20091129-0202.
