Hi, not sure if this is a Windows forum topic or General but since Im a newbie I guess I just do something wrong somewhere.

Background:
Im trying to stream from my dreambox to my laptop on mobile internet. Since bandwith is limited i need to scale it down a little and therefor I try to use
VLC. While trying everything is on the same lan. I was unable to connect to the stream from vlc so i tested with just saving it to a file. So I guess Ill start my
tests there since that didn't work either.

System Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (Real version, legit etc)
Setup vlc 1.0.3, firewall switched off.

Step 1. I open the stream in VLC and press the stream option

Looks good here so i just press next

Here I try with file ... and next

Looks good I guess.. pressing the Stream button..

I get it on screen looking good so atleast the incoming steam is working :)

But now to the bad part :( The file is still 0kb. I tried waiting a minute, stopping after a while etc but nothing ever gets written.
I guess i do some feeble and stupid mistake somewhere so please point me the right way. Ive tried running VLC as administrator aswell.

You cannot transcode a playlist file. You need the reference to the video file inside the playlist file.
