Playing ITV HD .TS files

I'm trying to get a HD video file to play in VLC 1.0.3. The file is a Transport Stream (.TS) of ITV HD on 28.2 Astra satellite. In it's recorded state VLC only detects an audio file but not the video file. If I use the program TSDoctor it reports "No video stream in PMT found. A H264 video stream was detected and the PMT was patched!" If I then continue to process the file using TS Doctor the new processed file will play fine with VLC.
I'd like VLC to be able to play the file as is without having to do this process step using TS Doctor. So does anybody know if VLC can play ITV HD files as is or is there some tweaking necessary with the settings?
Thanks for reading.

Thanks for replying.
I'll record a very short clip tonight and upload it to Rapidshare tomorrow.

The link for the short clip of ITV_HD is below. The file is a ZIP file with the original recorded file, the processed file (with TSDoctor) and it's process log, which details the technical problem with the original transmission better than I ever could.

I look forward to your thoughts on how VLC can be modified to play the original file.
Thanks for your help.

The original file is missing PAT/PMT tables which is the reason why VLC can't play it. Only few players are able to fall back to raw PID's only to play back such files because PAT/PMT tables are always expected in a TS stream. What TSDoctor is doing is just to recreate these tables.
I think the program you are using to record this stream is at fault because I can't believe that the ITV provider is broadcasting a TS stream without PAT/PMT tables. You should consider using another recording program.

Thanks for taking the time to look at that for me. I'll just continue to use TS Doctor as there's no possibility of altering the hardware I have.
