capture screenshot using vlc plugin

I'm using the VLC browser plugin in a web app to allow users to view videos. I want to allow users to capture a screenshot of the video and save it to their local storage. Is there a way to accomplish this? I've looked at the documentation for the plugin and I can't find a way to capture screenshots.
