Possible vlm bug?

Hi. When I'm using a --vlm-conf file, if I save preferences while vlc is playing, next time I start vlc with no other options the same vlm conf file is executed. This happens even if I change no preferences. The file is always read again if changed. I've checked this in vlc 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 windows, vlc 1.0.2 and 0.9.9a linux.

If this is an intended behavior, where is it documented? Which is the related preferences entry?

My sample vlm file is simple.
new ch1 broadcast enabled
setup ch1 input video.mpeg
control ch1 play
