A bunch of advanced new to VLC questions

I have been using Zoomplayer, SMplayer and KMPlayer - all have their issues, VLC looks pretty nice, but I have some questions/issues:

1 - On all my other players a single mouse click pauses/plays the player - is this doable in VLC and if so how?

2 - Is there a multiple playlist manager - like KMplayer, FB2k etc? The playlist I have found so far is pretty bad - no ability to reorder etc - tell me it ain't so..

3 - When I set my mouse scroll wheel to position it still does volume - and can I can control the jump speed both directions?

4 - Is there a way in Audio to control which audio card/output including ASIO?

Thats it for now, if I can get past these, I would consider using it - otherwise some people should get busy and bring the interface up to date.

1. Not yet, probably for 1.1, because it interferes with DVD menus
2. No, vlc has just a media library and a 'now playing' playlist. You should be able to reorder though. VLC isn't an audio player like FB2k. This will change in the future, when the new media library is merged.
3. Did you change it in the preferences?
4. no idea what ASIO is.

And yes, VLC lacks many features, but we are working hard on it and it is evolving quite fast.

1 - Pretty simple fix - don'y allow a single click when a DVD menu is active.

2 - What is the eta for the new stuff and is there a beta or alpha to be had?

3 - Yes - did not take for some reason, when I go back in it says its set.

4 - ASIO is an high level direct audio interface available in many good audio cards. It bypasses all of the Windows mixer etc. Much cleaner sound.

Thanks for the answers!

1 - Pretty simple fix - don'y allow a single click when a DVD menu is active.
This information is not available at the video window level in the VLC architecture. Besides, we only know that the input format supports menus (DVD or Matroska), not whether a menu at the moment is active or not. This is up to the DVD virtual machine.
2 - What is the eta for the new stuff and is there a beta or alpha to be had?
When someone writes the code, and no.
