Why WMP can play this stream... (problem independent to OS)

Hi Guys,
I have problem (independent to OS: XP or Ubuntu) with play a stream
encoded with Windows Media Audio 9.

mms://red7blue.de/TK1

VLC can not play this stream and say me:

access_mms error: failed to open a connection (tcp)
access_mms error: failed to open a connection (tcp)
access_mms error: cannot connect to server
access_mms error: error: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
main error: open of `mms://red7blue.de/TK1' failed: (null)

I have ALL codecs what I need under Ubuntu and Windows XP professional but seems thats something is wrong (?) with VLC, because only WMP can open this stream and I donĀ“t know what I should do now.
Maybe should I set something under Preferences ?

This stream is Windows Media Audio 9 64 kbps, 48 kHz, stereo (A/V) 1-pass CBR, without DRM.....

Can you help me?

The server is down to me and can't be reached at the moment. It doesn't even work with WMP.

Code: Select all

TCP h1631636.stratoserver.net:1755 SYN_SENT

I still can't see this stream, I just can't connect to the server. Maybe they are blocking IP's which are not from Germany ? And also I see that there are two connections opening at the same time so maybe it's trying to run some script that VLC can't deal with.

Because it's the default port for Windows Media. I did not set it, it's automatically done.
