Audio Problems with DV video

I hope this problem is not Widows related
I also hope this topic is not beeing discussed over and over again already but as DV is not a sufficient search string I didn't find any topics. Avi gave 8k+ answers and after the first couple pages I gave up. Anyway to the problem now:
I having audio decode problems when playing avi files from my DV cam coder. I used the standard Vista routine to copy the files from the cassettes to HD. I can play them with Windows Media Player and Virtual Dub (for compression). The first frames (< 2s) the original audio is audible ! But then the Audio is completely wrong demuxed or decoded (I suppose) resulting in complete digital mayham (full volume noise).
Any Hints
Just for your info the audio is coded 32kS 16 bit.
