SPDIF out of sync!

Postby daliwi » 27 Oct 2009 22:03

Hey everybody

I've used VLC media player for almost every kind of audio and video for the last couple of years, simply because I've never had any problems playing all the various formats, until now...

My PC is connected to my amplifier through optical (SPDIF) and DD/DTS has worked like a charm, when playing back .mkv and DVD's.
I had a problem due to stuttering sound for a while, but changing the Output Type from Standard to Win32 waveOut fixed that.

But the other day, while watching a DVD (vob's in folder from hd), I noticed the sound suddenly got out of sync with the video, and after a while the well know stuttering started again.
I've tested it on other DVD's and .mkv and they all behave the same way. When the stuttering starts, i can just pause and immediately start the player again and then everything's fine, but only for a while...

I've tried to increase the cache for DVD and File, but no change.

I've no idea what could be wrong.
My PC specs a Quad 3.4 and 4 GB memory etc, so nothing there.

Hope someone has a solution.
