VLC 0.8.1 w/o X?

Postby anderiv » 14 Jan 2005 18:42

Hello - I have vlc 0.8.1 installed on Fedora Core 3, capturing from a PVR250 card. I have multicast streaming functioning perfectly. Now that I'm this far, I'd like to be able to start up vlc and start the UDP multicast stream from the command line, without X running. Is this possible?

vlc has many interfaces.

vlc -I ncurses
vlc -I rc (aka console)
vlc -I http
vlc -I dummy

all these don't require X
Don't use PMs for support questions.
