control VLC movie cuepoints from external app?

Hi, I am trying to have multiple applications running at windows, one of them is VLC player. It is to play quicktime video. Another application is adobe director projector. What I want is that so the video in vlc player can be controlled from the director projector and jump to designated cuepoints. Is there a way to do something like this?
