Hey,

Can VLC be used in conjunction with PCAnywhere to do streaming? Not sure why I'm asking really. I think it's because I can start my TV Tuner card via PCAnywhere but it doesn't stream the video or audio, I just see the TV box and know it's running, and when I use VLC to directshow to my TV Card I get the blue screen of death.

Thanks.

I use VNC instead of PC Anywhere, but you should be able to use it to launch a stream -- don't try to play locally on the machine you are connecting to, have that machine launch a stream only.

The HTTP or rc interfaces should also work fine for remote-control of streaming. The HTTP interface gives you an area where you can basically shovel in the command line (the "sout") to make the stream start.
