API issues - Files for upload to server - where are they?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

API issues - Files for upload to server - where are they?

Postby mlapl1 » 17 Oct 2009 22:10

My sincere apologies for rasing this issue - no one else seems to be having it so it must be me.

I am trying to control the VLC player across the internet through the Javascript API.

I have a Linux server which dispenses .html and .php files as usual. My understanding is that it is necessary to upload certain .js files to the server and include them in the .html files (with the necessary javascript) in order to control the player.

My problem is really elementary and I simply cannot find the answer. Where do I find the files which need to be uploaded to the server? Is there a special place just for the API-related files? They do not seem to be included in the files downloaded for VLC for windows - and if they are, they are not clearly identified.

I have seen some of the docs which tell you what the function names are etc, but the location of the files remains a mystery to me. I would really really appreciate some help.

Thank you
Andrew
