Referrer (referer) when getting http:// stream?

Postby rullbandspelare » 17 Oct 2009 11:08

Hi!
Is it possible to let VLC add referer when getting a video stream over http?

The stream is only served to clients that are using a certain webpage. But I also would like to get it directly to vlc from the source.
for example: http://video.source.com/stream-cgi/mjpg/video.mjpg

if i open the stream from a non restricted source there is no problem.
But if there is a referrer restriction there will be an error "failed: could not create access" in VLC.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

This is not currently supported, and I don't know if it is at all feasible for the browser plugins. Patch welcome.
